a clima louco
Welcome to the century of weather extremes. May this be a sign of devistating human destruction of an instable world climatic system? Who knows?
I remember telling the people in Brazil, that when I get back home to Germany I'll be bathing in snow. Now we hardly had any snow (just a little over new year's for about four days). Maybe I'll be planting my first palm tree or some nice tropical fruits in the middle of Germany. The weather is going nuts these days. This week we'll hit temperature maxima of about 16°C which is in the 60s on Fahrenheit's scale. I hope that Bush will wake up and recognize the world climatic changes in the last few years. Of course it could all be natural and just normal, but it is without any doubt extreme.
Last year we had tons of snow and this year the skiing fans are covered in dirt.
I felt more comfortable living in a country with rather cold and snowy winters and mild and not hot summers.
But who am I to blame? I study process engineering, a field of industry with an immense hunger for energy. Therefore I'm all part of this destructive society. Yes I even take a car back home every weekend driving more than 1000km a week. Martin, there you go, don't point the finger at someone else.
So let's all hope for some snow (just not on the streets please).

Have a great and succesful year.
Greetings to all my friends around this small, tiny but for me very important planet earth.

Martin
